Can Dündar and Erdem Gül stand trial today because of their journalism activities. President Erdoğan and Turkish intelligence office (MİT) became the intervening parties. A confidentiality order is imposed on the case.

After Constitutional Court's decision of violation of right, 14th High Penal Court made a release decision. Journalists Erdem Gül and Can Dündar were released last night.

Reacting to Can Dündar and Erdem Gül's standing trial with the request of aggravated life imprisonment because of their journalism activities, intellectuals, academics, writers and artists notified themselves saying that “We are accomplices to their crime” in Istanbul, Izmir and Ankara.
