EU representatives took precautions while Ankara was asleep

It turned out that EU countries sent security warnings to their representative offices in Turkey and the security measures were tightened one week before the attack in Ankara Train Station.

According to the news report of Duygu Güvenç from Cumhuriyet newspaper, EU countries sent security warnings to their representative offices in Turkey one week before the attack in Ankara Train Station. The entrance doors of two embassies in Ankara were fortified with walls and reinforced glasses were installed. The armors and the security measures in the vehicles were tightened. They were expecting an ISIS attack in Turkey before November 1. And they took a lot of precautions considering that this attack might happen in Ankara. In the light of this information, Embassy of Germany renewed its entrance door on Atatürk Boulevard by fortifying it. Embassy of Belgium added an extra wall to its entrance. Security measures in the vehicles were also tightened.

This attack was being considered as the signal of the upcoming ISIS attacks in Turkey. According to the analyses, there were two possibilities: if the representative offices were to be attacked, then the ISIS danger would spread to Europe, and if a massacre were to happen in Turkey, then the terrorist attacks would continue.

After the attack, the US and England warned their citizens and told them to stay away from the centers and the crowds.

An official who spoke to Reuters: It was ISIS

Two senior security officials who spoke to Reuters said that, according to the initial findings, Ankara bombing is “the copy of the one in Suruç” and they thought that ISIS is responsible for the attacks. One of the officials said, “This attack is similar to Suruç attack, all traces point at ISIS,” and the other said, “We completely focus on ISIS.”
