The 26th term of Turkish parliament begins

The 1st legislative year of the 26th term of Turkish parliament begins today. MPs will take their oaths at the beginning of the new legislative year.

General Assembly of Turkish parliament will gather today which is the fifth day after the official results of the election on November 1 was declared by High Council for Elections.  

CHP Antalya MP Deniz Baykal will be the temporary parliamentary speaker, since he is the oldest MP in the parliament.

After the 1st legislative year of the 26th term of Turkish parliament has begun, MPs will take their oaths one by one.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will meet Prime Minister Ahmet Davutooğlu today to assign him the task of forming the new government. It is thought that this meeting will be held on 17.00.

Davutoğlu will present the list of the new cabinet to President Erdoğan for his approval on November 19.

It is thought that the new government will receive vote of confidence on November 28.

MHP is at the rightmost side now

The seating order of the political parties is rearranged.

According to the parliament practices, the parties are located in accordance with the number of their MPs, the first party being at the leftmost and the last party at the rightmost side.

317 MPs from AKP, 134 MPs from CHP, 40 MPs from MHP and 59 MPs from HDP are elected to the parliament. Thus, AKP MPs will be at the leftmost side and CHP MPs will be seated next to them. Since HDP is the third party now, HDP MPs will seat where MHP MPs had been sitting during the last term. MHP MPs will be at the rightmost side.
