There has been a curfew in Silopi province of Şırnak since Monday and the house of Seyfettin Aslan, the co-Mayor of Silopi, was raided by the security forces around 11.00 p.m., while HDP MP Ferhat Encü and co-Mayors of Silopi Emine Esmer and Seyfettin Aslan were there.

We spoke to Ferhat Encü on the phone and he said that Seyfettin Aydemir’s house raided by the police, while they were there. Stating that the security forces broke into the house, he said: “They entered the house, despite I told them that I am an MP.  They pointed a gun at me. They tried to take us under custody. When I demanded a reason for their action, they said nothing and told me to ask the governor. However, we cannot reach the governor.” Encü also stated that they were subjected to violence and insulting, and that the security forces left the house around 12.00 p.m., but they are still waiting inside the building.

“This is brigandage”

Saying that the security forces tried to take them under custody without giving any reason, Encü reminded that Prime Minister Davutoğlu recently said ‘There will be a cleaning from house to house’ and said that the security forces started to follow that order. “This is a forced entry. When I said the security forces that this is brigandage since they don’t have any official paper, they told me not to insult them.”

A civilian killed in Cizre

Encü also added that gunshots haven’t been stopped in Şırnak, Cizre and Silopi since morning, tanks are laying siege to the cities and firing. “There is smoke above Silopi. There are intense attacks in the neighborhoods.” Encü also said that they are informed that a young civilian was killed in Cizre.
