“Saturday Mothers” stand in solidarity with Cumhuriyet

Saturday Mothers: “Stand in solidarity with Cumhuriyet today. Or else they will come and knock on your door tomorrow.”

Gathering together every Saturday for commemorating their loved ones who had been forcibly disappeared by Turkish state, Saturday Mothers/People visited the office of Cumhuriyet in order to support the newspaper.

Saturday Mothers said in a statement: “All the media outlets that have been supporting us are shut down. Now, they are trying to shut Cumhuriyet down. We won't let them to silence the free press. We have to do whatever we can in order to support them. Stand in solidarity with Cumhuriyet today. Or else they will come and knock on your door tomorrow.”

After the press statement, Saturday Mothers put carnations on the desks in the editorial office.
