Manchester suicide attack: 22 killed, 59 wounded

Yesterday, a suicide attack was carried out in Arena concert hall in Manchester. Currently, it is reported that 22 people were killed and 59 people were wounded.

The attack was carried out after American pop singer Ariana Grande finished her concert. Around 10 pm, an explosion took place in the lounge. 

Manchester Police Chief Ian Hopkins stated that children were also killed in the attack, which they thought to be carried out by a lone male attacker. He noted that the attacker died in the blast. 

Election campaigns suspended

UK Prime Minister Theresa May said her thoughts were with the victims and the families of those who have been affected by what police were treating as "an appalling terrorist attack." 

After the attack, Conservative Party, Labour Party, Scottish National Party and Liberal Democrats announced that they suspended their election campaigns. 

Chair of main opposition Labour Party Jeremy Corbyn stated via Twitter that he was "horrified" by the events in Manchester and that his thoughts are with the families and friends of those who have died and been injured.
