İHD to organize Genocide commemoration events in 28 cities

The Human Rights Association (İHD) will organize Genocide commemoration events in 28 cities on the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

In the past months, the Human Rights Association had initiated the “Campaign for the End of Denial Towards the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide”. Details of events to be held within the scope of the campaign have also began to emerge. İHD will carry out the activities with the support of Nor Zartonk, the Zan Institute, the Coming to Terms with History Workgroup, the Gomidas Institute, Collectif Van, the Armenian Council of Europe and Syriac Activists.

March to Haydarpaşa

İHD will organize commemoration events in 28 cities on 24 April 2015. “Genocide Rallies” will be organized in some cities at the sites where the Genocide was perpetrated. In Istanbul, a rally will be organized from in front of the Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum to Haydarpaşa. The second centre of the April 24 commemorations will be Diyarbakır. The Gomidas Institute will organize a special event in Diyarbakır from 22 to 24 April with the support of İHD.
