“Behind the mountains” in 1909: relations between Armenians and Kurds
Armenian, Turkish, and Kurdish workers lived together under harsh socio-economic conditions. This undoubtedly left its mark on various aspects of the political destiny and spiritual life of these peoples. Chachani’s compilation contains a considerable number of reports and commentaries indicating that as the oppression and exploitation by Turkish pashas and Kurdish aghas and beys increased, the friendship between Armenian and Kurdish workers grew stronger and they began to act together.
