Increasing poverty within the Armenian community has reached the point of eviction for those who can no longer afford rent. Arşaluys Rita Kasapyan, an 82-year-old resident of Bakırköy, is forced to leave her home because she has been unable to pay rent for seven months; however, she has nowhere to go. Kasapyan says, "I am calling out to every foundation of my community! If you have a suitable house, please help me!"

Master Architect Osep Sarafian passed away last week in Michigan, USA, at the age of 94. A funeral service for Sarafian will be held on January 24, 2026, in Michigan.
