Surp Garabet Cemetery Attack Brought Before Parliament
"Investigate hate crimes targeting Christians' sense of security"
Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Mardin MP Mahmut Dindar submitted a parliamentary inquiry motion to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) calling for an investigation into attacks on cemeteries and places of worship belonging to Armenian and other Christian communities following the destruction of graves and a historic fountain at the Surp Garabet Armenian Cemetery in Üsküdar, Istanbul. The party also submitted a parliamentary question to the Ministry of Interior, requesting information on hate crime cases, investigations, and protective measures over the past 10 years.
