Azerbaijan critical about Turkey and Sinirlioğlu
Tensions between Azerbaijan and Turkey have not eased despite a telephone conversation between two presidents. Although it was reported that Erdoğan invited Aliyev to the summit during their conversation, Aliyev did not attend. On the same day, the APA news agency, which is close to Aliyev, published a sharp response to criticism in Turkey over Azerbaijan's decision to support UAE Minister of State Lana Zaki Nusseibeh instead of Feridun Sinirlioğlu for the position of UN Secretary-General.
