Founded in 1898, the school was one of the region’s most important educational institutions, with 12 classrooms, four languages echoing through its halls, and nearly a thousand students each year. The Elazığ Mezire Getronagan School may not have disappeared entirely, but with every passing day it grew a little smaller.

Getronagan High School has achieved a significant success in the Technovation organization, which aims to empower female students in the fields of entrepreneurship and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). The school took first place with the project it designed.
