ALEN BAĞ BECOMES THE NEW PRESIDENT AT TAKSİM SPORTS CLUB

The presidential election at Taksim Sports Club, one of the long-established clubs of the Turkish Armenian community, was held today (March 29). Members cast their votes at the Derviş Eroğlu Cultural Center in Feriköy. Garo Hamamcıoğlu, who had served as the club's president for 26 years, had announced that he would not be a candidate in the election. Due to the chaos that occurred, the voting process started with a delay. Voting ended around 9:00 PM, and the counting of votes began. In the election, 384 members cast their votes. The counting of votes ended around 9:50 PM. Alen Bağ was elected as the new president with 223 votes.
