Tuğçe Yılmaz’s trial under Article 301 of the Turkish Penal Code is dismissed
The court has ruled to dismiss the case brought against journalist Tuğçe Yılmaz under Article 301 of the Turkish Penal Code (TCK) over an interview she conducted with young Armenians. At the hearing, Yılmaz paid tribute to Hrant Dink and said she supported peace between the Armenian and Turkish peoples. Her lawyer, Deniz Yazgan, also stressed the need to confront what Rakel Dink stated following her husband’s death: “the darkness that turns a child into a murderer.” The court dismissed the case on the grounds that it had not been filed within the statutory time limit.
