THE UK’S FIRST FEMALE ARCHBISHOP

"In my youth, I certainly could never have imagined being where I am today"

A historic milestone was reached in the Church of England yesterday. Dame Sarah Mullally, who previously made history as the first female Bishop in the Church of England, has now taken office as the first-ever female Archbishop. The ceremony took place at Canterbury Cathedral at 2:30 PM local time on March 25—a day known in Christendom as the Feast of the Annunciation. This inauguration holds profound historical significance, marking the first time a woman has ascended to this position in the Church’s 1,400-year history.
