IHD issues “violations of rights after July 15 coup attempt” report
Human Rights Association of Turkey (IHD) issued a report about the violations of rights that have been committed after the coup attempt on July 15 and during the state of emergency.

ECRI: politicians' hate speech goes unpunished
European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) released the fifth monitoring report on Turkey. In the report, official authorities' hate speech is criticized and it is pointed out that the hate speech is not effectively punished.

Censorship spreads to websites: Özgür Radyo, Hayatın Sesi and IMC TV blocked
Almost 12 TV and radio channels, including Hayatın Sesi TV, Denge TV, Jiyan TV, Zarok TV and Van TV, has been dropped from TURKSAT. Among these dissident media organs, there are also channels that broadcast in Kurdish. Now, news portals of Özgür Radyo, Hayatın Sesi and IMC TV are also blocked.

Today, the “visiting editors-in-chief” of closed-down Özgür Gündem newspaper started to stand trial. The first hearing, where Ayşe Düzkan and Ragıp Duran stood trial, has been postponed to December 15.

Trials of journalists to start tomorrow
The trials of journalists, who participated in the “visiting editor-in-chief” campaign that was started as an act of solidarity with the closed-down Özgür Gündem newspaper, will start tomorrow. Ayşe Düzkan and Ragıp Duran will be the first ones to be heard.

Being a Syrian child in Turkey
Development of Social and Cultural Life Association (SKYGD) conducted a field study in order to examine the life conditions, expectations and problems of Syrian children living in Turkey. 100 children living in various districts of Istanbul had been interviewed and a report titled as “Being a refugee children in Turkey” is issued. The report shows that the most fundamental demand of the children is to go on their education, which they are deprived of because of financial problems.

On the other hand, a joint Palestinian and Israeli project, which has been going on since 2002, tries to find a more permanent solution to the crisis in the region. The book titled as "Learning Each Others Historical Narrative" offers a new model for history textbooks used in Palestinian and Israeli schools. The “Sur Plan” is like a call for leaving
“Sur Action Plan”, which was announced by Minister of Environment and Urban Planning Mehmet Özhaseki, has been criticized by NGOs and occupational organizations which are excluded from the process of project design. Hate campaign lead against İstanbul Pride March
An organisation named 'Müslüman Anadolu Gençliği’ (Muslim Anatolian Youth) has created a violent hate campaign on social media in response to Istanbul Pride Week, held on the last week of June. Facebook staff have stated that this page, clearly asking people to commit violence, does “not violate community standards.”

Prison sentence because of call for "Armenian hunting"
Garo Paylan had filed a lawsuit against Tolga Adıgüzel, who is the chair of Kars branch of a Turkish nationalist organization, because of his racist statements about pianist Tigran Hamasyan who performed at Ani last year. Adıgüzel is sentenced to 7 months and 15 days of imprisonment and imposed a 11.240 TL fine. The judgment is suspended.

101st anniversary of the Armenian Genocide was commemorated with Aurora Prize, which is one of the most innovative events of the year and named after Aurora Mardiganian, a genocide survivor who witnessed the killing of her relatives. The winner of the prize that was granted for the first time is Marguerite Barankitse (Maggy), who saved hundreds of orphans' lives during the civil war in Burundi.

HDP report: curfews, 6 months, 180 killed

What is happening in Aşkale Repatriation Center?
NGOs working on refugees released a press statement about Aşkale Repatriation Center, where the refugees are completely isolated. NGOs made a call to Turkey's Directorate of General of Migration Management for stopping treating the refugees as criminals and providing them the right to access justice.
