From Agos' archive: How were two Armenian deputies killed?
Today, in Agos' archive, there is the story of 2 Armenian deputies who were killed in 1915. They are two of the seven deputies that HDP MP Garo Paylan brought to the parliament's agenda by his demand for investigation. Rober Koptaş, in his article written in 2013, told about the process that led to the killing of Istanbul Deputy Krikor Zohrab and Erzurum Deputy Vartkes Serengülyan.

Paylan's call for investigation on Armenian politicians killed in 1915
HDP Istanbul MP Garo Paylan suggested forming a parliamentary commission for carrying out an investigation on 7 Armenian members of Chamber of Deputies of Ottoman Parliament who served in 1908-1915 and killed after being arrested on April-May 2015.

Friends of Hrant: Until the real murderers are punished as they deserve
Today, public officials who are responsible for Dink murder are being heard. Before the trial, Friends of Hrant made a statement to the press. It is stated that the public officials stand trial because of “fight for power” and the highest prosecution organ insists on protecting the governor who was in office at the time of murder.

Everybody knew about the plans of Ankara massacre
In the report of civil inspectors, the names of the police chiefs, who hadn't reported the information about Ankara massacre to their superiors, are listed. 102 people were killed in the suicide attack on October 10, 2015 during a rally in Ankara. In the information that was received on the day of the attack, even the name of the bomber is reported.

Who is responsible for the leaking of personal data?
Personal data of nearly 50 million Turkish citizens leaked online and this intensified the debates on personal security. According to information technology law experts, Protection of Personal Data Law proposed by the government for solving the security problem will create a legitimate ground for government to use “sensitive data”.

Surreptitious expropriation in Sur
The expropriation decision made by the cabinet in Sur province of Diyarbakir caused disquiet. Stating that the cabinet should correct this decision, Archbishop Aram Ateşyan said that they demanded a meeting with Minister of Environment Sarı. Lawyer of Surg Giragos Church Ali Elbeyoğlu said, “The execution of this decision shouldn't be under the initiative of the government. We will appeal this decision. The decision of the cabinet should be corrected by the cabinet itself.”

“We don't know whether race code exists”
CHP MP Selina Doğan tabled a parliamentary question addressed to Ministry of Internal Affairs, but hasn't received a response. After that, she applied to General Directorate of Civil Registration and Citizenship Affairs. She demanded to know how many of non-Muslims there are in Turkey, given there is race code procedure. The Directorate replied that they cannot give any answer to that question, since there is no procedure like race code.

Bombing attack in Ankara: 37 people killed
Yesterday, in Ankara, near Kızılay Güvenpark, an explosion took place at 18.45. In the attack, 37 people were killed and 125 people were injured.

My home where my son is: Şişli Armenian Cemetery
Sevag Balıkçı was killed by Kıvanç Ağaoğlu while he was doing his military service in Kozluk province in Batman and the most recent hearing of the murder case was held in Diyarbakir on February 25. The case is adjourned to April 6 because of a missing document. Sevag Balıkçı's parents Garabed and Ani Balıkçı were present at the hearing. We talked to them about the legal process and the claims that Ani Balıkçı has moved to Armenia.

Treasure is above the ground
Hrant Dink Foundation's studies on cultural heritage continues. After the inventory of the structures of Armenians, Greeks, Syriacs and Jews in Turkey is taken, the foundation focused on the cultural heritage of Kayseri. In late 19th century, one third of Kayseri's population consisted of Christians. Though it is a rich country in terms of cultural heritage, there are few studies on the city.

Political oppression to the Constitutional Court
After the Constitutional Court decided that the rights of Erdem Gül and Can Dündar are violated, President Erdoğan said, “I don't obey and respect to that decision.” With this statement, Chief Judge of the Constitutional Court Zühtü Arslan became the focus of debates. Today, he made a statement: “Constitutional Court's decisions are binding to everyone. Disapproval or appreciation of anybody doesn't mean anything to the court.”

Prosecution demands ban on İMC TV's satellite broadcasting
Ankara Public Prosecutor's Office sent a written notice to satellite broadcasting (Türksat) and demand İMC TV's frequency is suspended with the claim that it makes propaganda for terrorist organizations. News Coordinator Faruk Eren said, “This is what happened, while we are rejoicing the release of Gül and Dündar. The situation of the freedom of press and expression in Turkey is miserable.”

Race code abolished "orally"
Last year, the procedure of using the ‘race code’ for students applying to non-Muslim schools was abolished with a public mandate. General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs Director Ahmet Sarıcan informed HDP MP Garo Paylan that this procedure is also removed from their system.

HDP report: curfews, 6 months, 180 killed
