PKK and ISIS camps bombed

Turkish Armed Forces fighter jets departing from the Diyarbakır 8th Main Jet Base have targeted PKK camps located within the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) in Iraq.

War planes departing yesterday evening from the Diyarbakır 8th Main Jet Base targeted PKK camps.

A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office said that in Friday’s operations both the PKK and ISIS in Northern Syria were targeted.

PKK spokesperson Bahtiyar Doğan, speaking to AFP, stated that their positions close to the border had been bombed.

Anadolu Agency stated that Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu was following the cross-border operations from his office at the Çankaya Mansion.

A Special Security Summit was held at the Prime Minister’s Office. A statement made following the meeting said, “Shelters, bunkers, warehouses, logistic locations and caves in Zap, Metina, Gara, Avaşin-Basyan, Sinath Haftanin, Hakurk and Kandil were targeted with modern and classical ammunition”. The statement also added that 320 people had been detained in operations that began yesterday.
