UN’s call to Armenia and Azerbaijan

UN made a statement about the increasing clashes between Azerbaijan and Armenia because of Karabakh question. UN urged both side to avoid actions that might intensify the tension.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon released statement about the increasing clashes between Azerbaijan and Armenia because of Karabakh question and urged both side to avoid actions that might intensify the tension.

Spokesperson for Secretary-General, Farhan Haq talked about the clashes between Azerbaijan and Armenia at the press conference held today. Speaking for Ban Ki-Moon, Haq urged both countries to prevent the clashes in Karabakh and act in concert with USCE Minsk Group for easing the tension.

Haq also commented on the summit that took place on December 19 in Bern, Switzerland between President Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev and said that the summit would provide an opportunity for reducing ceasefire violations, civilian casualties and starting the peace process.
