2015 Hrant Dink Awards were presented last night at the ceremony that was held in Istanbul. Women rights activist Samar Badawi from Saudi Arabia and Kaos GL Collective that has been fighting for LGBT rights in Turkey for 20 years received the awards.

Today is the 61st birthday of Hrant Dink. The 7th of the International Hrant Dink Award, which is presented every year on September 15 in memory of Hrant Dink, will be presented in Istanbul Convention Center tonight.

Engin Dinç bore a testimony as a suspect 9 years after the assassination of Hrant Dink. In 2007, the year that Hrant Dink was assassinated, he was the chief of Provincial Intelligence Office of Trabzon and now, he serves as the head of Police Intelligence Department.

Papa Stratis passed away on September 2; the same day that Aylan passed away, who put the refugee problem into world’s agenda again with the photograph of his dead body lying on the shore.

While the clashes at the Armenia-Azerbaijan border “really” increase, both countries began to conduct extensive military drills. Though the acts that are performed in the drill scenarios are fictional, the number of casualties from both sides is real.

HDP’s co-leader Selahattin Demirtaş held a press conference at HDP Diyarbakır building. Speaking before heading to Cizre with HDP Committee, Demirtaş evaluated the attacks that have been going on for two days. Pointing out that the attackers are “paid and official mobs”, he said that they will pay the price before justice.

The Greeks will hold a memorial ceremony in Istanbul on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of September 6-7 Pogrom. On September 6, Yeniköy Panagia Greek Orthodox Church and School Foundation will hold a memorial ceremony at the church for the ones who lost their lives during the pogrom.

The Protestant Churches Foundation stated that they are threatened to be murdered and massacred and called the authorities for duty.
