Fresno city of California has a historical significance for Armenian people. The city was the first stop of the mass migration to the US after the genocide. However, it hosted Armenians before 1915. Though there are 50.000 Armenians in Fresno today, there had been more Armenians living in the city in the past. In 1976, Armenian Studies Program was launched in Fresno State University. We spoke to Barlow Der Mugrdechian, who has been working as the director of this program for 8 years, about Fresno and its importance for Armenian people.

Last night, suicide bombers opened fire and detonated themselves in departures hall of Istanbul Atatürk Airport, killing 41people and injuring more than 239 people.

After gunshots were heard in Istanbul Atatürk Airport, the explosions took place. At least 28 people were killed and 60 are injured.

The investigation on Ankara massacre happened on October 10 is completed. In the indictment, aggravated life imprisonment is demanded for 36 suspects.

The third hearing of the trial of public officials ended. Evaluating the demands of release, the court decided to release Ercan Demir. Ali Fuat Yılmazer and Ramazan Akyürek’s detention continues. The next hearing will be held on August 8, 9, 10 and 12.
